From Kathy’s heart to yours As I sit in my “meeting-God” chair each morning, I can look out at my garden. Every morning God sends the birds to bathe in the birdbath and sing. Every morning God wants to remind me of who He is and what He desires to do in my life. One of the most important ways He does this is by desiring our praise. It has been said that God inhabits our praise. In other words, lives in, or occupies our praise. Knowing and experiencing God is about awareness and familiarity, and that is gained through experience. Let me repeat that: Knowing and experiencing God is about awareness and familiarity, and that is gained through experience.
As I speak God’s name out loud and identify who He is in my life, He then pours out His love, grace and mercy on me. Below is a list I have compiled of “Who God Is.” I would like to challenge you to say out loud this list for the next week. Please feel free to add to the list. I don’t know about you, but my daily focus can become very skewed and even self-centered. We, therefore, have to make some changes in identifying “Who God Is” in our lives. Why do this? So that God might bring His perspective and correct the focus of our lives. You are my God . You are my Grace. My King. My Joy. My Savior. My Creator. My Strength. My Friend. My Healer. My Provider. My Forgiver. My Comforter. My Guide. My eternal Home. My Friend. My Laughter. My Confidante My Life. My Father. My Song. My Mercy. My First Love. My Wisdom. My Very Breath. My Defender. My Hope. My Faith. My Inheritance. My Firm Foundation. My Intercessor. My Deliverer. My Courage. My Enemy Destroyer. My Refuge. My Truth. My Shield. My Rock. “Lord God, Your Son came to make You known to me, and He will continue to make You known in order that the love You have for Him may be in Me and that Jesus Himself may be in me” (John 17:24-26). “You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship You” (Neh. 9:6). “In your hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind” (Job 12:10). “The earth is Yours, O Lord, and everything in it – the world and all who live in it” (Ps. 24:1). “For You are a great God, the great King above all gods. In your hands are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to You. The sea is Yours, for You made it, and Your hands formed the dry land” (Ps. 95:3-5). Acknowledging God through praise changes our lives! When we are in doubt, fear, discouraged, feeling alone, acknowledge “Who I Am Out Loud!” WATCH AND SEE WHAT GOD WILL DO! BELIEVE GOD FOR EVERY PROMISE INTENDED FOR YOU IN HIS WORD, AND PERSEVERE FAITHFULLY UNTIL THE FULL INHERITANCE OF HEAVEN IS YOURS. I can hardly wait to hear what God does as we focus on “Who He Truly Is.”

Kathy, when I learned from my mom that you were writing a blog, I was curious as to what it would be about. I found so much encouragement from this post, and have written down in my journal the list you made of who God is, and will try to speak that list out loud. It feels so good to read your blog, and makes me feel more connected to you while we have to be scattered in our respective places. Thank you for laying down what God puts on your heart. I hope you and Ed are doing well during this time, and always. Love ya both, Kayla
